Tribute to Oum Koulthoum

This Beiteddine Festivals production is a breathtaking salute to one of the greatest voices the world has ever known. The Egyptian Diva Amal Maher, accompanied by Maestro Salim Sahab and his orchestra will transport us back to the glory and power of Kawkab al Sharq, the unforgettable Oum Koulthoum.

Pink Martini

This is a 12 member band that is sophisticated fun and cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. Their beautiful songs and melodies effortlessly shift from English to French to Italian and a multitude of other languages. Drawing inspiration from the past, Pink Martini write and sing their own songs in addition to championing old perennial favorites.

Rim Banna, Humam Ammari, Jadal Band

Rim Banna: A lyricist and composer from Nazzreth, Her songs create an exciting performance, with a message of hope, dignity and freedom for the Palestinian people.
Jadal: The Jordanian Arabic Rock Band that introduced the audience with "Salma" the hit song from their Album "Arabic Rocks".
Humam Ammari: A Jordanian local rising talent. An unsigned vocalist guitarist / music composer / and song writer with an inspiring unique style.

Rafael Amargo

This Spanish Flamenco “Master Choreographer and Dancer” is known for his electrifying shows. Amargo infuses the purest essence of Flamenco with other choreographic trends resulting in contemporary dance that can only be described as a tour de force.

Kathem Al Saher

The “Emperor of Arab Music” will be with us at the Jordan Festival this summer. Amidst the spectacular setting of The Citadel, the true legend of Arabic music will dazzle us with an evening of his magnificent music and Nizar Qabbani’s beautiful lyrics.

Itar Shame', Omar Faqir, Aziz Maraka

Itar Shame': Founded by Ibrahim Sulaimani and Rasha Rizk. Their Songs reflect the new generation's problems and aspirations using simple lyrical poetry. Their music floats between Jazz, Rock, Funk, Latin music.
Omar Faqir: The “Faqir Syndicate” many years of national and international performances, will bring you the ultimate Jazz fusion night.
Aziz Maraka & Razz: A Jordanian Composer, Pianist, and singer. Known for his creation of unique genre RAZZ; a fusion of Rock, Arabic, and Jazz.

Palestine Youth Orchestra

A unique ensemble of young Palestinian musicians from Palestine and its global diaspora, the PYO has previously performed in Jordan, Germany, Syria, Bahrain and Lebanon and has been joined by leading musicians from the Arab world, Europe and North America. This year they are joined by acclaimed British conductor Sian Edwards. The programme features Western classical music masterpieces including Haydn Symphony No. 94 and excerpts from Gershwin's opera 'Porgy and Bess', alongside specially commissioned works by leading Palestinian composers John Bisharat and Issa Boulos.

Jordanian Night

Macadi Nahhas, A sparkling voice, well known for her exceptional style in reviving traditional folk songs from the Middle Eastern Heritage. Presenting this tradition in a modern alternative way.
SALAM, A rock band founded by guitarist/vocalist Salam Homoud, the band incorporates various influences including progressive rock, fusion, hard rock, traditional Arabic and Latin music into their sound.
Shoo Hal Ayyam, A group of music talents, performing a selective music repertoire from the Arabic and world heritage accompanied by a whirling dervish dancers.

Mercan Dede, the most well known Turkish world music artist, He is rightly recognized as one of the most creative, unique yet modest artists in the world music scene today. Jordan Festival 2010 is an initiative that will take place on June 30th, 2010, in the fascinating site of the Citadel with the collaboration of Beiteddine Festivals; an independent non-profit organization with more than 25 years of successful experience in cultural events. Towering above the beautiful downtown Amman, the Citadel is an extraordinary historic site that prospered for centuries as one empire gave rise to the next. Recent improvements have been undertaken for festival activities to make the Citadel site more accessible, better understood and welcoming for the enjoyment of all visitors. Efforts have teamed up to develop the cultural awareness among all ages of the Jordanian society and to unfold Jordan’s diverse artistic capabilities, encouraging young talents to step up and preserve Jordan fascinating cultural identity.
