4Tech, a program on BBC Arabic that presents the latest technology innovations, how things work, the latest news from the internet, the best websites and technology news in the Arab World, has recently visited Jordan to broadcast a special report on technology in Jordan. I had the chance to participate in the quick discussion of Jordanian bloggers - Rani Dababneh, Roba Al Assi and Mohammad AlQaq - on blogging difficulties and limitations, Arab uprisings, blogging impact, blogging platforms, laws and other aspects that you can watch below.

1- There are a lot of tech-related English terms that are commonly used, so even Arabs are using them. If I'm talking politics then maybe it should be all in Arabic at such show, but when it comes to any techie topic it's hard to use pure Arabic, it was all developed in English.
2- I really find this language thingie, that is bought up to the surface, during every event is irrelevant and takes us down. It's not about the language, it's about the info, we shouldn't really care about the language if we get the core, if i deliver my thoughts to people in Arabic, English or even body language it doesn't matter as long as it's received correctly.
3- I don't think that the English terms we used in our discussion were extreme and often, we were talking Arabic more :) besides, this show is targeting Arabs yet it's called 4TECH, so this might confirm that mixing Arabic and English is fine when it comes to technology
