Jordan, No BlackBerry Ban “Yet”!

Middle East BlackBerry Ban is in the air, as United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia recently decided to Ban BlackBerry Phone Instant Messaging Applications.

Research In Motion BlackBerry Instant Messaging Applications encrypt messages and send them to RIM's data centers, making them complicated for governments to watch in case of threats, so some countries as UAE, KSA, and India asked RIM Ltd for decryption techniques to access Instant Messages, or risk a ban, as such messages were used and could be used again to threaten National Security.

In Jordan, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission head indicated that No Official Requests were sent from government to ban BlackBerry (BB) or stop any applications yet, But in case government did, they will consider the case to decide by then. BlackBerry service providers in Jordan, Zain and Orange, also said that no requests to ban BlackBerry were sent to them.
